reversion!

The North Shore Half is on June 8. www.northshorehalf.com. I am increasingly worried about the big hill at mile 9 -- particularly because I've been bad about my running routine in the past week or so. My stylist Glenn says the mile 9 hill is "awesome." But as Susie has so succinctly and accurately assessed, "no hill is 'awesome.'"

I think that I could have trotted this race out, no problem, about 2 weeks ago. But this past weekend I was in Las Vegas for a bachelorette party... and though I visited the gym a couple times, my long run on Sunday didn't get done. Also, James and I are moving in together on Thursday (tomorrow!) and I've been packing like crazy at night so that's cut into running time. Also, I'm so lazy.

Running is great when the weather is decent and I have a couple extra hours per day. But when it's 45 degrees and drizzly out (like it has been until today), and when I'm furiously throwing sweaters and dishes into boxes all night (like I have been for the past week and a half), and when lounging on the couch with Chinese takeout seems so inviting after a long day at work, it's hard to get all geared up and run around. Especially when you know you've got to put an hour and a half of running time in.

This makes me slightly worried about training for the marathon. BUT -- I am signed up to run with a CARA training group, starting the weekend after the NSH. BUT -- I'm signed up for a 6:30 a.m. group. What was wrong with me when I got myself into this... I must have been on a manic high or something.
